Priory Park Festival chiefs have proved they are all heart…by handing a bumper batch of free tickets to the shindig to the cardiac department at Chichester’s St Richard’s Hospital.

Festival organisers asked for nominations for a team who “go above and beyond and who deserve a night out”. Now deserving hospital staff will do just that thanks to 40 complimentary tickets as a prize.

And with the backing of radio station Spirit FM, the hospital staff were chosen after being nominated by Clare McCullough Tate. A festival spokesperson said: “Many, many congratulations to Clare and the team and many thanks to Spirit FM for supporting this initiative.”

Meanwhile, festival director Robin Bextor (pictured with pop star daughter Sophie Ellis-Bextor at last year’s event) says the final touches are all but done and has urged folk to let their hair down and party.

He said: “The weather is looking good, the bands are all arranged, the stages set and the sausages are ready to go on the BBQ and the drinks are in the chiller. All we need now is for you to put on your party hats, your dancing shoes, and get the sun cream ready to attend Chichester’s very own music festival, part of The Festival of Chichester, in its beautiful back garden: Priory Park

“Forget the bills, the elections, and the news just for one weekend and have a great time with your friends, family, neighbours and fellow West Sussex music fans. This is your festival, so looking forward to seeing you in the Park from Friday July 7th. We won’t be satisfied until everyone is on the way to Amarillo.

“We have held back 100 half priced tickets on the door, for each day, for the first people to get there. So arrive early and snap up the tickets, all under 11’s go free, and first through the gates get in for just £15.”
