Volley good show! Honours up for grabs at Chichester club’s tennis tournament

Players at a Chichester tennis club are preparing to serve up keenly anticipated competitive action during the championship finals’ day on Sunday.

Thumping volley shots, imperious net play and contested line-calls will be the order of the day as the excitement unfolds at the Chichester Raquets & Fitness Club.

Budding Wimbledon starlets will rub shoulders with seasoned players with a clutch of silverware and a certain amount of prestige up for grabs.

And club manager Jack Lerwill says he he is looking forward to the big day and seeing would-be Roger Federers and Johanna Kontas do battle for silverware.

And Jack has urged members and visitors to cheer on the court contests. He added: “Please come along and give your support for what is a fantastic day of tennis. All members and guests are more than welcome. It should be a great day.”

The order of play sees a start of 11.15am with a no-one until 2pm BBQ in between a close of play at around 4pm at which point a Wimbledon tennis tea will be served.
